First attempt at traditional collage .. thanks to a suggestion by *mcdermid.
Used an old blueprint of an experimental orange grove plot as the background, decorative tissue paper, a business card, flowers and trim from a greeting card. The women picking oranges are from a cover of a local fruit shipping company catalog.
Oh, it is definitely addictive. Expressing oneself through paper scraps is the best medicine. And if layers are your thing, they will happen. I myself love layers!
It was fun ! I've become fascinated with collage .. I've seen some great works here and wanted to try it myself. This is nowhere near what I want to do, but I've got to start somewhere.
It's kind of hot for photography these days, isn't it?
It's very hot for photography these days! Without anything decent to do indoor photography with its been pretty boring so like you I've been learning new things. Nothing as sensational as collage though, just processing of photos and how to use layers, masks and textures.
What you ended up with may not have been what you wanted but it was very interesting and like you said...we have to start somewhere.
I have to agree but I haven't yet figured out a good way to "cut out" the pieces I want and put them together without being able to tell. I've tried masking and I've tried making selections but I'm not quite getting it. That's ok, I've got another couple of months before my time isn't my own again.
